In these images we started to experiment with lighting and what didn't work for an image and also how different lighting suits different models.
In this first image we were trying to create a shadow on the left side by using a beetie dish to create this harsh shadow but it didn't really work the way we all thought it would. It's slightly over exposed and also not very flattering on the skin because it shows up all the imperfections.
We then tried to turn down the light which helped slightly more because it gave more of a 3d style to the image because it wasn't too over exposed but it still didn't really work with the model. I still think the second image is still quite edgy and gives off that slightly different shadowed look.
We then tried it front on and I think this worked quite well but still doesn't look like a beauty image because the lighting still wasn't perfect, I think we also should have had the light slightly higher to give more of a flattering image. In the last image we tried using a soft box lighting to really highlight the image and the face. This lighting did work to do that but also didn't give any depth to the image made it look quite flat.
I think maybe if we turned up the brightness and maybe placed the light to one side or above the model it would have created more of a 3d image.
